ELGI Electric pioneered the concept of Automatic Over Head Traveling Cleaners (OHTC) in India. Technical tie-ups with world leaders in Germany (Festo, Jacobi & Welker) and ARGUS, USA has helped ELGI Electric adopt latest technologies and reinforce the status of ELGI Electric as a Latest Technology and quality-conscious manufacturer. The company’s product portfolio comprises of Over Head Cleaners for Spinning and Weaving, Yarn Conditioning Systems, Roving Bobbin Transport systems, Metal and Spark Diversion Systems, Centralised Waste collection systems just to name a few.
The company's products are a testimony to its technological prowess. Over 50 million spindles spread across the globe, are spinning high quality yarn with ELGI Electric-made OHTC and other products. The company offers customized solutions to every application. Be it spinning or weaving, its range has just the right product for every requirement and application, always ensuring that ELGI’s customers have that extra competitive edge.
ELGI Electric has a strong R&D team and will be lauching new products viz. Cone Packing System, Cone Transportation System, Lap Transportation System and New Generation Over Head cleaner shortly.
ELGI's Motor Division offers high-efficiency Electric motors, in addition to AC/DC motors and traction-changing Point Machines to Indian and global railways. ELGI Electric is in the process of supplying a wide range of AC motors catering to varied Industries.

Mr Sumanth Ramamurthi
Chairman
Mr Sumanth Ramamurthi serves as the Chairman of Elgi Electric and Industries Ltd and Managing Director of Super Spinning Mills Ltd. He is a third-generation entrepreneur from the ElGI business family and has more than 40 years of experience as an industrialist. Mr Sumanth Ramamurthi received an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri. He has previously served as a Director in Elgi Ultra Industries Ltd, Kakatiya Textiles Ltd, Elgi Software & Technologies Ltd, ELGI Building Products Ltd, and Precot Ltd.
Mr Nikhil Govind Ramamurthi
Director
Mr Nikhil Govind Ramamurthi serves as a Director in Elgi Electric and Industries and Super Spinning Mills Ltd and is part of the fourth generation of the ELGI business family. Following an Undergraduate degree in Commerce from Christ University, Bangalore, he has completed his Masters in Mathematical Finance at the University of Texas at Dallas.

President
V S Balasubramanian, President - Elgi Electric and Industries has Completed B Tech Textiles from A C College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai in 1991. Worked in Voltas Limited for 31 years in various positions before joining Elgi Electric in April, 2022. At Voltas, he joined as Service Engineer and installed and commissioned various machines, then rose to All India Service Manager handling a team of more 100+ service professionals. He then moved to Sales where he was handling almost the 4 Southern States for LMW, LRT, LCC, Kluber, ELGI Electric,LEDL and Lakshmi Adwaith Products and also the service related to the same. Duirng his carreer he has executed more than 100+ projects and has close relationship with most of the customers in that area. He has completed 1 year Senior Management Program from IIM kolkata in 2017.
